SEVENTEEN teams competed at the Stamford Festival Netball Tournament held at Stamford Junior School recently.
Five teams from Stamford took on visitors from Market Harborough, Sleaford, Peterborough, Brigg, Boston and Rutland with Bishop Stopford beating Tornadoes 13-6 in the final.
Organiser Louise Worthington said: “All Stamford teams that entered played well but with tough competition last year’s winners, Vision Express, just missed out on the semi-final this year.
“A great day was had by all and the Stamford Netball League would like to thank all teams for entering, the school for the use of the courts and St John Ambulance. All donations on the day, including entry to the tournament, and a raffle, will go to St John Ambulance.”
