AN England coach will open a new martial arts club in Oakham next month.
Richard Auciello, a 6th degree black belt, former world champion and current GTUK England head coach will lead a TaeKwon Do demonstration by the current GTUK squad and other local students on October 1 at the Catmose College sports centre from 11am.
Richard, who began learning the sport when he was eight after suffering bullying, said: “It is a great work-out for body and mind, helping you to keep fit, while boosting confidence, installing discipline and combating stress.
“TaeKwon Do holds no barriers to gender, age, size or level of fitness.
“Children and adults can enjoy TaeKwon Do and will not only learn how to defend themselves, become more confident and have an improved level of fitness and flexibility but will also be taught the tenets of TaeKwon Do; courtesy, integrity, self-control, perseverance and indomitable spirit.”
Richard has won many titles, including the Individual World Gold Medal, which he won in Italy 2000.
He then moved on to coach the England squad and went on to be nominated for BBC Coach of the Year Award for his highly successful club in Stamford which has been running for more than 10 years and which has had students represent England at junior and senior level.
Classes will be held every Saturday morning with sessions for five to 13-year-olds from 10am-11am and older children and adults from 11am to midday.
