DEEPING St James AC fished their fur and feather match at Spalding’s Lake Ross on Sunday.
The lake was partly frozen a day before, bites were always going to be few and far between but winner, drawn on the favoured far side of the lake on peg 18, was Graeme Foster with four carp for 9lb 8oz.
Graeme fished a maggot feeder to the middle of the lake with red maggot on the hook.
Second, and landing the biggest fish of the day at 5lb right on the final whistle, was Carl Fisher with 7lb 12oz. Drawn on peg 5, Carl fished the waggler at 35yds with red sweetcorn on the hook. Third was Peter Hodson fishing the long pole and bronze maggot for 5lb 9oz.
All anglers enjoyed a full English breakfast at The Fishermans Arms before the match and a buffet with prizegiving afterwards.
This weeks match is the second round of the DILS with the venue still to be announced at time of press.
