Grainstore winner Glenn says teamwork was key

The Grainstore Trophy took place at Rutland Water Golf Club on Saturday.

Played on a Pairs Betterball Stableford format, the duo of Glenn Parkhill and Vinny Keefe were victorious with a score of 44 points.

Glenn said: “We played well as a team and when I had a bad hole Vinny came in and vice versa.

“I holed a couple of long putts, which always helps, but with the greens in great condition it seemed like I couldn’t miss at times.”

It was a family affair in second place with the team of Liz and Robbie Pengelly only one shot off the pace with 43points.

The club is now gearing up for the big Anniversary Trophy at the weekend.

l Rutland Water seniors beat Priors Hall (near Corby) 4½-1½ away late last week.
