The Ladies Championship was contested by 22 players, with reigning champion Hannah Vaughan going for her sixth title in a row.
Playing off 5, Vaughan led by five shots after the first day, shooting a gross 82 to establish a clear lead over second placed Anne Hughes, with Kay Hircock third on 90.
Day two witnessed a golf masterclass from Hannah as she played out of her skin to shoot a level par gross 73, with birdies at 7 and 12.
Bogeys on 16 and 17 threatened to mar an exceptional round, but a solid par on the last saw her record what may have been her best round ever at Burghley. Her total of 155 gave her the Club Championship by a massive 30 shots!
Not surprisingly, this performance blew the opposition away, with the next best scores of the day being a 92 by Jo Bell, and a 93 from Janet Duff. Anne Hughes hung on to record a 98 to give her a total of 185 for second place, with Kay Hircock third on 189.
The Ladies overall net competition, played in parallel with the championship, saw Janet Duff edge out Vaughan by one shot, her net scores of 75 and 69 for a total of 144 just beating Hannah’s 77 and 68 for a total of 145.
Duff was rewarded with a cut to 23 for her efforts, with cuts also went to Kay Hircock (down to 17) and Chris Wright (down to 27).
Anne Hughes had the best net score on Saturday (net 71) and Chris Wright the best on Sunday (net 68).
