KEITH Jones has won Rutland Water’s Tuesday Night Boat league with an impressive seven victories in 14 weeks.
The Peterborough angler had dominated the series with only Richard Cooper, who put in a good performance to take second place with five match wins, offering any serious challenge.
Keith was presented with a £50 Anglian Water tackle voucher and a free midweek boat voucher (his prize for winning the final match of the series).
On the final night Richard and Keith were both drawn to fish from the same boat with Keith landing seven fish for 15lb 15¾oz and Richard netting four for 10lb 1oz, including the best fish on the night a 3lb 6oz Rainbow. Paul Wild took third place with 5 fish for 9lb 12¾oz.
Following the match everybody tucked into supper. Lady angler Hilary Tomlinson provided two lovely sponge cakes to round off the evening.
Final league placings: 1st Keith Jones 122 points, 2nd Richard Cooper 96pts, 3rd Gary Cooper 23pts, 4th Chris Evans 19pts, 5th Paul Wild 18pts, 6th Mick Bennett 17pts.
The prize for best fish of the league was awarded to Rob Teasdale who netted a 4lb 4¾oz Rainbow in week 11.
l ANGLIAN Water Lochstyle 4 man team match at Rutland Water was won by Tightlines with 24 fish for 54lb 13½oz.
Mike Kayes of Tightlines took the best fish at 3lb 13 7/8oz with fellow team member Steve Winstone taking the best bag at 19lb ½oz. This match fished to a rod average of 4.45.
l RUTLAND Water anglers presented a cheque for £2,230 to the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance last week.
Anglers from all over the UK and overseas gave the proceeds from fish they caught at Rutland Water to the cause.
