STAMFORD Town collected their league title shield at the NLD RFU annual meeting last week.

Stamford enjoyed a spectacularly successful 2010-11 season winning a hat-trick of trophies in the spring. The pinnacle of the season was winning the Midlands East 4 (South) division unbeaten with 19 wins from their 20 matches.

Stamford also won the Lincolnshire Junior Cup and the NLD Shield.

Not resting on their laurels the side are soon to start a busy pre-season schedule in preparation for life in a competitive Midlands third division.

Captain Oli Story, who collected their league shield this week, said he has no doubt that the boys will step up to the challenge and cause some upsets.

Pre-season training will begin on Tuesday and continue every Tuesday and Thursday, starting at 7pm .

Stamford will be running a 1st, 2nd and vets team this season and new players are welcome.
