TRAINEE lifeguards helped to organise a free swim day at Catmose Sports Centre in Oakham.

The splash day took place at the centre on Saturday to give people a chance to enjoy the facilities with a range of fun activities.

The day kicked off with an energetic hour-long aqua fit session which attracted lots of existing and new customers.

Parents and children then enjoyed a piece of the action with a free family swim, packed with fun and games and the chance to play on the pool’s Treasure Island inflatable.

Duty manager Sarah Charlton said: “We had a fantastic turnout which made our free splash day a great success.

“I would like to say a huge thank you to the Catmose Rookie Lifeguards who helped throughout the day.”

The teenagers are all taking part in a course to learn basic lifeguard skills.

The team at Catmose Sports Centre also run swimming lessons, aqua fit classes, public sessions and fun family sessions at weekends.
