Oundle Eagles continued their winning ways with a 40-15 victory over Old Newtonians at Occupation Road.

Oundle missed an early penalty kick but the breakthrough came after a good break from Toby Snelling. He was stopped short, but as a couple of pick and drives got them closer to the line, Snelling picked up at the back to score.

With Old Newtonians down to 14, the Eagles stretched their lead with Richard Griffiths taking an off load to score.

The dangerous Old Newtonians number 8 scored before half time, brushing off tackles on his way to the line.

After the break, James Sheridan burst through and showed good pace to power over the line for Oundle.

Ali Barnett grabbed the bonus point try a few minutes later.

The Old Newts number 8 again crossed the line with another powerful pick up and drive but Oundle went further ahead when Griffiths ran back a loose kick out of defence.

Old Newts got a third try, with Oundle indiscipline at a breakdown, but Oundle responded through Lewis Robinson who won a foot-race to recover his own kick for the final score.
