THE Deepings School’s netball team followed on from their success at county and regional level with the U14s winning the district final.
After winning all seven of their games to reach the final, the girls beat Boston 25-9.
Now they are raising funds to buy new kit for a tournament in September. As well as raffles and race nights, the girls took on a staff team. During the first eight minutes a combination of year 8 and 9 pupils held the staff at 3-3 and in a second period a full year 9 team pulled away to lead 6-3. The staff pulled one goal back but the girls held out to win 6-4.
Head of girls PE Natasha Johnson said: “Staff playing pupils is always good fun. All the pupils were brilliant, as were the staff and the two sixth form umpires.”
