TRIATHLETES from Peterborough Area Combined Triathlon and Athleics Club took part in three races last weekend.
Barnack’s Matt Gunby made his comeback at the National Triathlon at Blenheim Park, competing in the Elite race.
The distances were 750m swim, 12.5 mile cycle and a 3 mile run.
Matt finished sixth with split times of 8:43, 29:55 and 17:52 for a combined 60:10.
In the Age Group Category, Martin Taylor competed in the Sprint race over the same course finishing in 87.35 minutes.
l PACTRAC had seven competitors in the second annual Corby Triathlon, with four winning their age groups and Roz Giles taking third female overall.
The distances were a 750m swim, a 17.5 mile cycle and a three mile run.
Results: Steve Hope 13:42, 53:14, 17:32 - 1.24.28 (1st in age group); Steve Giles 16.52, 51.41, 16.04 - 1.24.37 (third); Roz Giles 14.49, 55.44, 18.44 - 1.29.17 (second in age group, 1st lady); Chris Jordan 14.04, 56.56, - 23.12 - 1.34.12 (1st in age group); Rosalind Goatly 14.22, 61.03, 20.09 - 1.35.34 (1st in age group); Mike Primavesi 19.17, 65.15, 24.56 - 1.49.28 (2nd age group).
In the accompanying Novice Race, over a 400 swim, 10 mile ride and 2 mile run, new member, Daniel Groom, finished second overall.
He was pipped to top spot by 41 seconds and was first in his age group.
Nine PACTRACers competed in the Spalding Triathlon with three members (Caroline Randeria, Georgina Jennings and Peter Mein) winning their age groups.
