THREE teams from Stamford Tri Club raced at the National Club Relay championships at Holme Pierrepont at the end of August.
The competition was a four-way relay with each team member completing a 500m swim in a rowing lake, a 15k bike ride and a 5k run.
More than 650 teams raced over the weekend with Stamford’s Go Hard or Go Home team of Jimmy Robinson, Paul Lunn, Michelle Wright and Andrea Robinett smashing their 17th place from 2011 to make the top ten with a time of 3h27m37.
The Knott Rough Enough team of Will Kirstein, Alex Knott, Kerry Rough and Maggie Skinner finished 10 minutes behind in 3h37m35.
The Fab 4 of Paul Brewster, Tony Gilbert, Diane Parperis and Sarah Haslam finished in 3h53m18.
l PACTRAC (Peterborough Area Combined Triathlon and Athletics Club) entered two teams featuring local athletes at the national relays at Holme Pierepont.
PACTRAC Potentials (Chris Jordan, Steve Coward, Sean Beard and Nathan Tweedie) clocked 3h36m59 for eighth place, and PACTRAC Legends (Georgina Jennings, Christina Cork, Rosalind Goatly and Sam Fielding) finished in 4h17m00.
Several Pactracers took part in the final race of the four-race Box End Off-Road Triathlons series.
The races were held between May and August with 750m swims, six mile rides and three mile runs.
Times for the final race were: 2nd Rob Hammond 58m56; 6th Steve Giles 61m55 (third in age group); 15th Roz Giles 65m03 (first lady); 26th Daniel Groom 70m58.
Overall positions: 2nd Rob Hammond; 3rd Steve Giles (first in age group); 6th Roz Giles (first lady); 38th Daniel Groom.
PACTRAC’s Tony Moran completed the Rubicon half-ironman at Newby Hall, near Harrogate recently. Race distances were the classic 1.2mile swim, 56 mile ride and a 13.1 mile run, which he completed in 5h55m.05 for 54th place.
