Six Toft ladies took the opportunity to try their hand in the first of the nine-hole qualifying Stableford competitions this week.

Rosemary Delaine-Smith chalked up her first ever win by notching up a commendable 19 points.

Anne Barrett came in second with 17 and Anne Knox was third on 14 points.

l Toft C team played its first match of the season at home against Thorney Lakes on Saturday.

The rain and wet course almost caused a postponement but as the match progressed the conditions improved and everyone had dried out by the time they were in the 19th.

The result was a 4 - 2 win for Toft. Winning pairs were: Colin Pearce and Bill Collins, Roy Callcut and Alan E Smith, Phil Sendall and Trevor Sayer and Mike Paulson and Jim Clayton.
