SEVENTEEN anglers caught 28 fish in the latest round of the Tuesday Night Boat League.
Empingham’s Richard Cooper won the evening with seven fish. Most anglers headed for the main basin with fish feeding hard on daphnia with Richard also claiming the best fish of the match, a 3lb ¾oz rainbow.
Registration for the league is between 5.15 and 5.45pm with the match starting at 6pm.
Results: 1st Richard Cooper 7 fish for 14lb 11¼oz; 2nd Keith Jones 6 fish for 12lb 11¾oz; 3rd Jeremy Ball 3 fish for 5lb 5oz.
Stan Jenner of Bourne had a day to remember last week when he landed a personal best brown (the best of the week) weighing 6lb 7½oz.
Stan was bank fishing off Normanton using a sink tip line and black buzzer. He also netted another brown of 5lb 1oz, along with three other rainbows.
The best boat areas are currently the main basin with anglers using orange blobs and sinking lines, and Hickman’s Spinney to Old Hall where anglers are using buzzers and nymphs. Best bank fishing is at Whitwell Creek and Normanton bank with floating line, buzzers and nymphs working well.
l BEGINNERS’ courses take place at Rutland Water on Saturday and then on June 4, 8, 12, 19 and 25.
l THE Anglian Water Floating line match takes place on June 11. The second leg is on July 2.
