Oakham School’s rugby captain, Ruaraidh Smith, represented Scotland U18s against England on Sunday.
Ruaraidh was picked to be a part of the squad after a number of training camps and selection fixtures and played in Scotland’s 57-13 defeat to England.
The 17-year-old, who is the captain of the School’s 1st XV, said: “It was an honour to be selected for my country in the first place, especially against England, and to start made it even better.
“It was a tough game, England had a couple of games under them already which made it a lot harder for us because we hadn’t performed as a squad yet. Despite the loss it was a great experience and I really enjoyed playing at such a high level.”
