Stamford and District League bowlers will be chasing a total of 12 titles when the Northants Bowling Federation stages its county finals at Peterborough and District bowls club on Sunday.
Featuring in three of them are Blackstones’ Martyn Dolby, Shirley Suffling from Barnack and Ketton BC secretary Glenys Edwards.
Dolby faces Sean Fenlon from Market Deeping in the four-bowl singles at noon, then links with Adam Warrington in the pairs against West Ward’s Harry Thompson and Dick Noble (2pm) before joining Warrington and Jonathan Earl to take on the Parkway trio of Neil Wright, Tony Scarr and Simon Law in what promises to be a thrilling two-bowl triples at 4pm.
For Suffling it’s a similarly hectic schedule starting with a pairs alongside Christine Ford against Yaxley’s Hazel Bass and Ann Hadley (12pm).
Then she pairs up with Paul Buckley to take on fellow veterans Glenys Edwards and her husband Peter (2pm). At 4pm she joins Buckley and Brian Bagshaw against Parkway’s Paul Dalliday, Linda Toms and Barry Lawrence.
Edwards’ other commitments are the Secretaries singles against Casterton rival Pam Plowman at 10 and Champions of champions Singles against Linda Darani at 4pm.
Plowman also plays P Browning in the Ladies Senior Singles at 2pm, while Joyce Foster and Connie Cox compete in the Senior Pairs at 12 noon against Norma Squires and Darani.
Completing the local line-up is talented Blackstones lead Stephen Harris, aiming to retain his U25 singles against Jack Corney, then joining Jay Travis-Jenner in the U25 pairs (2pm).
