TEAMS from Stamford, Oakham and Oundle took part in a juniors’ mini-tournament held at Thrapston by coaches from R2R Tennise.
The four-member teams played in seeded groups and for many of the players it was their first opportunity to play competitive tennis.
Oakham’s players scored the most singles’ points (seven) but after losing both of their doubles games to Stamford, it was Stamford who had the highest points tally at the end of the day.
Stamford’s Katrina Southern won all her group one matches but group two was a tighter affair with Stamford, Oakham and Thrapston all winning two matches.
Group three began with Oakham’s Josh Sennet winning his first ever match but Stamford’s William Barker claimed a hat-trick of wins. All players in group four were making their competitve debut, Stamford’s Harry Atkin taking three wins.
Tournament organiser Pete Harding thanked the coaches and parents for helping the event go so well.
