Queens 12 Stamford 15
STAMFORD travelled to Bedford with several first choice players unavailable but showed strength in depth to come away with a win.
They didn’t get the bonus point they would have wanted but the victory keeps their promotion hopes alive.
Stand out performers were Bruce Parker who stepped up into the front row, Luke Cripps who put in his usual hard graft from the second row and Harry Offer, who suffered concussion and will be forced to miss this weekend’s encounter with Stuarts and Lloyds from Corby.
Stamford narrowly won the home fixture against S and L earlier in the season and are fully aware that they are in for a battle this week, and that they must improve massively on the performance that they put in against Bedford Queens.
Captain Oli Story said: “Our performance against Queens was well below par.
“Whilst we will take the win and move on, we owe ourselves and everyone else a much improved performance this week.”
