Two goals from youngster Harry Oakley helped Bourne Deeping seconds notch up their first points of the season with an impressive 4-2 away win at Wisbech.
A bright Dragons start saw Oakley go close early on but the opener came from the much less likely source of skipper Graham Brewer, whose misplaced pass sneaked its way past the near post and a bamboozled Wisbech ‘keeper for his first league goal for the club.
A deflected Paul Tancred short corner shot doubled their lead before Wisbech pulled one back.
A sublime piece of skill from Tancred led to the next Bourne Deeping score.
From their own D, Richard Woods cleared to Brewer who found Tancred in space on the left. He chipped high over the defence to Oakley who took a touch before calmly rounding the ‘keeper and slotting the ball home.
The Dragons’ two-goal cushion didn’t last long, Chris Manns deflecting a dangerous Wisbech cross into his own net.
He soon went from villain to hero, dancing through three tackles in the Wisbech 25 before crossing the ball for Oakley to tap in at the far post for 4-2.
