Toft Golf Club’s A team clinched their first victory of the season, securing a narrow 3½-2½ victory on the final hole at Sleaford.
Blustery conditions helped neither set of golfers and rain fell after the opening five holes. But the Toft side stuck to their challenge and won three quick games in succession.
They only needed a half from one of the last three pairings but with the top two losing, it came down to the final game.
With the pressure on Emile Van De Mere did enough clinched a half on the 18th and win the match.

Toft’s ladies took a half from a friendly match a Canwick Park, one of several competitions this week.
The result especially pleasing to captain Sandra Wildmore who had been forced to draft in Helen Roscoe and Angela Jenkinson at the last minute to make up the team.
