Young handball players were treated to a visit from an Olympic captain.

Team GB’s Bobby White spoke to pupils at Casterton Business and Enterprise College, Catmose College and Uppingham Community College.

Bobby gave an introduction to the sport to GSCE and BTec pupils. He then watched a competition between the schools, which was won by Uppingham Community College.

Bobby said: “It was fantastic to see so much interest in handball in Rutland. Throughout the day all the young people I met were enthusiastic about the game and for many this was their first taste of the sport.

“At the schools competition at the end of the day, there was some real talent on show and it would be great to see those players go onto to bigger and better things within handball.”
