Vale stars are on the medals hunt

Nine members of Vale Judo’s junior competition squad will start the year with a bang this weekend by chasing medals and ranking points at the British National Championships in Sheffield.

The squad has a busy year planned for 2013 with rostrum places being chased by the following competitors: Emma Philip - Cadets U40kg, Megan Pauley - Pre-cadets U48kg, Sofia Palmer - Pre-cadets U48kg, Alex Cutforth - Pre-cadets U57kg, Clemence Barnes - Pre-cadets U63kg, Holly Newton - Cadets U57kg, Bryony Cutforth - 10/11 years U36kg, Callum Rowley - Cadets U46kg, Daniel Bennett - Pre-cadets U66kg, Ben Buckby - Pre-cadets U34kg, James Reseigh - Pre-cadets U34kg, Andrew Bennett - Pre-cadets U42kg, Edward Narnacle -10/11 years U46kg, Gabriel Francis-Dequani - Pre-cadets U46kg, Oliver Blake - Pre-cadets U46kg, Luke Waddings - Pre-cadets U42kg, Sam Conboy - Pre-cadets U38kg.

Vale Judo Club itself has a busy year ahead with a move to a new venue planned, membership expansion and new competitions as well as the club’s 10th anniversary to celebrate.
