Bourne Judo Club hosted a well-attended gathering at Deeping Leisure Centre recently.

Chas Mayhew, one of the Bourne Club’s instructors, said: “We had about 80 on the mats including visitors from Kent, Wales and Manchester. We all get together and get various top coaches down.”

The club usually meets at Bourne’s Derby and Joan Hall but for this event - the 49th meeting of its kind - they met at Deeping Leisure Centre.

The Bourne coach added: “Next year will be a special one and we hope to have more high grade instructors and the president of the British judo Council present.”
