Rebecca Robinson has become the youngest ever student to pass her black belt grading at Matthew Parkes’ karate club in Bourne.

The 11-year-old from Haconby is one of a group of martial artists at the club to pass tests which were held at Stamford Queen Eleanor School recently.

Matthew said: “She has been training for about five years. Lately she has been helping with teaching the classes.”

In addition to Rebecca’s first Dan grading, Alex Harwood and Cameron Clarke both passed second Dan black belt.

Others to pass their gradings were Charles Bennie, Noah Harwood, Jack Harwood and Ben Parkinson (all green), Judith Harwood, Tansy Taylor, Peyton Turner, Zoe Camamile, Daisy Taylor, Lauren Camamile and Alfie Frost (all red), Joseph Simmons (yellow), Jake Greensmith (orange) and Reuben Hutchison (purple and white).
