Oakham and Stamford both recorded vital victories in their battles to secure promotion and Bourne bounced back to winning ways at home to Wellingborough on Saturday afternoon.
The Oaks shaded a tight local derby away against arch rivals Melton by a single point to strengthen their grip on second spot. Coalville remain out in front in the Midlands 2 East (North) division but third-placed Ashbourne’s defeat means Dronfield, who have games in hand, could now be Oakham’s biggest threat to the play-off place.
Meanwhile, in the Midlands 3 East (South), Stamford reclaimed top spot in their division with a high-scoring victory against Stewarts and Lloyds.
