Oakham have moved to third in the table, giving their promotion hopes a massive boost, but Stamford’s charge suffered a setback with their first defeat of the season this afternoon.

Thirteen proved lucky for Oakham to beat Leicester Forest 13-0 victory but it proved unlucky for Stamford whose unbeaten league run ended at match 13 - a 31-11 loss away against Rushden and Higham. As a result Stamford slip one point behind Rugby St Andrews with a game in hand.

Elsewhere, Deepings and Stamford College Old Boys were heavily beaten but Oundle picked up a big win at Corby and Bourne recovered from a mauling at Brackley a week earlier to win 22-19 at Westwood.
