Stamford Town clinched their first Burghley Park six-a-side crown for 17 years with a comfortable 31-run win over Nassington in last night’s (July 11) final.
Stamford’s Zac Chappell was named player-of-the-tournament after scoring 27 in the final and in an easy semi-final win over Uppingham.
Stamford posted 78-4 in the final and restricted Nassington to 47-4 in reply. They’d held Uppingham to just 44-3 in the semi-fina, a total they passed wothout losing a wicket.
Nassington beat Empingham by 23 runs in their semi-final are amassing 78-2 in their five overs.
NASSINGTON 78-2 (D. Robinson 32no, M. Denny 2-5) beat EMPINGHAM 55-3 (M. Coburn 30) by 23 runs.
UPPINGHAM 44-3 (S. Hodson 20). lost to STAMFORD 45-0 (Z. Chappell 27no).
