A teenage rider took bronze at a two star rated equestrian event at Houghton late last month.
Competing against more than 100 other riders in the CCI2* event, 19-year-old Alex Liddle from Wymondham was only beaten by highly ranked Frenchman Karim Laghouag and Britain’s number one William Fox-Pitt.
Liddle, who is already a junior European gold medallist, was 17th after the dressage round. She moved to ninth after cross country which she completed with a clear round and moved up to third position with another clear round in the show jumping event.
Riding Romeo Z, she also won a prize for finishing as the highest placed rider U25.
Liddle, who runs eventing yard Blue Point Horses, said: “We are aiming to be selected for the Young Rider European Championships held in Haras de Jardy, France, later this year.”
