Uppingham maintained their push for promotion with a 61 run victory at Medbourne on Sunday.
Uppingham won the toss and batted first with Martin Bennett an early victim to the variable bounce of Brad Downing and falling for one run.
But fellow opener Will Cropper survived two dropped catches to get Uppingham off to a blistering start with six 4s and two 6s as he made 39, pushing Uppingham to 52 before he finally holed out to a simple catch in the eighth over.
Mark Cox, batting at number four, top scored with 59 and Town were at 166 for 4 by the time Cox was caught out on the boundary. Chris Howe batted solidly for 24 runs at number eight as Uppingham posted a total of 209 all out.
Brad Downing (3 for 35) and Fin Clarke (3 for 53) were the pick of the Medbourne bowling, but they were to rue their poor fielding and four dropped catches that could have changed the game.
In reply Medbourne started well after losing the early wicket of Joel Nance (15). Bhavil Patel batted superbly to top score with an excellent 41 before a rash shot saw him clean bowled with the score on 78 for 3.
Ben Lovell (32) took Medbourne on to 116 for the fourth wicket before losing his wicket to an excellent stumping by keeper Jamie Dumford and Medbourne then suffered a dramatic collapse as Chris Howe (3 for 42), Mark Cox (3 for 27) and Scott Green (3 for 14) ripped through the lower order batting for just 28 and a final score of 148.
