Empingham moved up to second in the Grantham and District League with a five wicket victory at Belton Park on Sunday.
The Rutlanders on the toss and put their hosts, who began the day second, in to bat and Empingham were soon rewarded with wickets.
Ian Sharp (3 for 17) and Stewart Naylor (2 for 25) quickly dispensed with Belton’s openers and wickets continued to tumble with regularity with ten wickets taken for just 89 runs in 37.1 overs.
Dave McKevitt picked up 1 for 23 and Olly Elson wrapped things up with 3 for 13.
Empingham’s only disappointment in the field could be the 21 extras that they conceded.
In reply, Empingham lost three early wickets cheaply with Mark Coburn, Rhys Talbot and Joe Stafford all falling to Daniel Turner.
But Elson hung around to make 18, Baz Sharp saw out the innings with 19 and Tom Cooper top scored with 28 as Empingham secured their sixth victory in 10 matches inside 27 overs.
