Members of a fundraising club have been working hard to put on a free event for all the family that will support good causes.
Bourne and District Lions will host its first Family Fun Day on the Recreation Ground tomorrow (Sunday) from 11am to 5pm.
President Graham Crane said he hoped the free event would be a success.
“The idea is to raise money for local charities,” he said. “It’s the first time we have done this.
“A lot of schools and groups are coming along to raise awareness of what they do.
“We are hoping it is going to be an ongoing event. It should be good fun.”
There will be all sorts of fun and games during the day.
Roger Tuby and Sons will bring a selection of funfair rides for everyone to enjoy.
Teams can test their strength against one another in the tug of war competition.
Sporty youngsters can sign up to take part in the junior football fun festival. And for those who prefer a more relaxed afternoon there will be a hog roast and refreshment tent.
There will also be a car boot, Scruffs dog show, craft stalls to browse and the chance to ride on the Lions big blue bus.
Mr Crane added: “There is a lot of work involved and we really don’t know how successful it is going to be.
“The girls have been going round the local pubs trying to round up teams for the tug of war.”
Money raised will go back into the community.
“I have got people queueing up for money these days as most of the local government funding has dried up,” said Mr Crane.
“We try to look out for the people who are under the radar.”
