Music fans are in for a treat over the coming months with some huge acts booked to appear in the grounds of Burghley House.

The stately home will host UK reggae/pop legends UB40 on Saturday, June 7.

Founding members Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue will perform a selection of their finest hits, from Red Red Wine and Kingston Town to Rat in mi Kitchen.

Ticket details will be revealed shortly at www.burghley.co.uk.

Burghley will also play host to the Rat Race Dirty Weekend obstacle course on May 10. Participants will take on either a 13 or 20-mile route with scores of different zones to climb over, crawl under or swim through.

This year’s event will finish with a performance from Sheffield’s Reverend and the Makers, followed by a set from BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James.

They will be supported by several as-yet unannounced local acts.

This year the bands will play under a 5,000-capacity marquee. Tickets for the event are still on sale, starting at £109 per person for a team of 10.

Prices include entry to the afterparty but not camping.
