A fundraising group has secured a £10,000 grant to put on a free family fun day.
Stamford Kiwanis will host a day of games, activities and workshops at Burghley Park on Sunday, August 10.
The group will use a £10,000 Big Lottery Fund grant to pay for the event, meaning the fun will be free of charge for all those who attend.
Kiwanis president Robin Peace said: “We are delighted to receive Big Lottery funding, which will enable us to have a really fun day for everyone.
“It will be an exciting opportunity for youngsters to enjoy doing new things, learn new skills, try new sports, listen to the experts and be entertained all day.
“It’s free entry for all, free parking and free entertainment. There will be expert tuition and craft workshops providing fun ways to learn new skills too.”
The Kiwanis last held an event at Burghley Park six years ago. This year’s fun day will run separately from the club’s annual parade of floats, which is part of Stamford Festival.
The full lineup of activities will be revealed in the coming weeks. For more information, visit www.funday.stamfordkiwanis.org.uk.
