An artist has set up a guided tour of Stamford through a collection of paintings and drawings created over almost 40 years.
John Allenby, from Billingborough, is showing a selection of his work at Stamford Arts Centre until October 3.
John has been painting and drawing Stamford scenes since 1974 and now has a collection of more than 150 works.
He said: “Stamford is a wonderful place and I thought it would be a good idea for people to see what I had been up to.”
The pieces take visitors from High Street St Martin’s, across the River Welland, around the north of the town and back to The George Hotel.
They are not for sale but John decided to show them off regardless, to give people a different perspective of their town.
The exhibition opened on Monday last week. John said: “The people I have spoken to have been very complimentary. And according to the staff at the arts centre, the feedback is quite favourable.
“I have had a lot of people saying how nice they all think the drawings are.”
And while at the arts centre, John has even been inspired to add another drawing to his collection.
A Walk Around Stamford by John Allenby will run at the arts centre gallery until October 3, open from 9.30am to 9pm.
