THE Vikings will invade Rockingham Castle over the bank holiday weekend.
It is a blood feud that forms the basis of the Viking invasion weekend on Sunday August 28 and Monday August 29.
Viking re-enactors invite you to witness the harsh and often ruthless world of the Viking age when law and justice were rough, life was cheap and feuds were settled in dramatic and brutal ways.
Viking encampments were quickly established by the invaders who brought with them families and all the trades required by a fighting force on the move.
Visitors to the castle are encouraged to wander through the fascinating camp to view traders at work, children at play and witness family life from times past.
The gates open at midday with the castle opening at 1pm.
Combined event and castle tickets are adults £10.50, pensioners £9.50, children £7 and a family ticket is £28.
For the event only tickets are: adults £9, pensioners £8, children £5 and a Family ticket is £23.
