WITH the school holidays looming parents may be wondering what to do to keep their children entertained throughout the summer.
But help is at hand with a number of summer schemes designed to keep them occupied during the six-week break.
Everything from drama workshops and sports sessions to bug hunts are craft days are planned across the Stamford, Rutland and Bourne areas.
l Bourne Golf Club is offering free taster sessions from Friday, July 22, until Saturday, July 30.
One-hour sessions with professional golfer Darren Game are available for four people at a time between 9am and 9pm. The session will include half an hour using snag equipment for your swing and half an hour introducing golf equipment.

l One Touch Football is running courses throughout the summer.
Sports courses including tag rugby, kwik cricket, basketball, rounders and a mini Olympics runs at Malcolm Sargent Primary School in Stamford from Monday, July 25, until Friday, July 29, and at Market Deeping Leisure Centre from Monday, August 8, until Wednesday, August 10.
Football courses take place in Stamford on July 25-27, King’s Cliffe on July 28-29, Colsterworth and Bourne on August 4-5, Market Deeping on August 8-10, Stamford on August 10-12, Stamford on August 10-12, Bourne on August 15-17, King’s Cliffe on August 18-19, Colsterworth on August 25-26 and Market Deeping on August 31 - September 2.

l Wildcats Theatre School is running a summer school programme for five to 16-year-olds.
From Monday, July 25, children will be able to work towards a performance of The Jungle Book at Stamford Arts Centre.
From Monday, August 1, the sessions will focus on a performance of Aladdin.
The theme for the week starting on Monday, August 8, will have a West End superstars theme with dance teacher Winston from Pineapple Dance Studios delivering workshops. There will be a Lion King master class and a jazz session.
Wildcats will run courses in Oakham from Monday, August 22, focusing on Wicked, Alice in Wonderland, Camp Rock and Mamma Mia. The last week, from August 29, is a High School Musical special.
Sessions run from 9.15am until 4.30pm each day. They cost £22.50 per day or £90 for a week (£100 for High School Musical week)

l A robot themed holiday club will run at the New Day Baptist Church in Morton from Monday, July 25, until Friday, July 29.
Activities are suitable for four to nine-year-olds and will include crafts, games and drama.
Sessions run from 10am until 11.30am and cost 50p per day. Children can turn up on the door or book on 01778 570656.
l Children are invited to take part in bug hunts at Fineshade Woods.
Every Tuesday and Thursday morning between July 19 and September 1 families can take part in the Bug Quest days and hunt around under logs and leaves to find woodland creatures.
The sessions start at 10.30am and cost £4 per child and £2 per adult. Parking at the woods cost £3. Call 01780 444691 to book a space.
Birdie Bingo will also be running throughout the summer.
By collecting a bingo card from the shop at Fineshade Woods, children can mark off things they have seen in the woods to claim a prize.
l Football Development Schools is running a series of three-day soccer courses.
Sessions will run at Oakham School from July 25-27 and August 15-17 and Leighfield Primary School in Uppingham on August 8-10.
There is also a course at Empingham Road playing fields in Stamford on August 1-3 and August 22-24.

l Genesis is running a week of fun at Catmose College in Oakham.
Anyone aged five to 18-years-old is invited to join the five-day workshop to create and perform in an original musical with drama, dance and singing.
Organiser Sara Charles said: “It is extremely rewarding as creative and energy levels are kept constantly on a high for five days.”

l Sports sessions run by the Activ8 team are taking place in Uffington and Ryhall.
A sports camp will take place at Copthill School from August 15-18 for children aged five to 10 years old. It includes rock-it-ball, golf and themed games.
A planned session at Stamford Queen Eleanor School has been cancelled and a new venue of Ryhall Primary School has been confirmed. Sessions will take place there on July 25-27.
