THE eighth annual Battle Proms picnic and firework concert will take place in the grounds of Burghley House.
The spectacular event on Saturday, July 7, includes a flypast by a Spitfire; an outstanding aerial display by The Blades; a show by Napoleonic Cavalry and Infantry re-enactors and a diamond jubilee gun salute.
That’s all before a full two hour programme of exquisite classical music. In true Battle Proms style, the evening will feature a wealth of soul-stirring favourites performed by the New English Concert Orchestra, including Massenet’s Meditation from Thais. Classic follows classic in a programme of powerful orchestral music carefully selected to uplift and inspire.
Fine music, entertainment, flypasts and cannons, Battle Proms has it all.
Tickets are £33 for adults and £16 for children aged five to 15. Gates open at 4.30pm with the musical programme due to start at 8pm.
