COME AND SING

MUSIC at St Martin’s is holding a Come-and-Sing, Royal Wedding Music event at Trinity Methodist Church, Barn Hill Stamford on Saturday April 30. Singers and listeners are welcome. Fergus Black will lead the choir and the organisst will be Paul Parsons.

CONCERT AT CAREBY

Oakham School Chamber Choir will give a concert in St Stephen’s Church Careby on Sunday May 1 in celebration of the Royal Wedding. The choir will sing music by Harvey Brough, Bob Chilcott, Cecilia McDowall and Eric Whitacre. Violinist James Douglas will play a Romance by Beethoven.

The concert starts at 7.30pm following a finger buffet at 6.30pm. Tickets are £12 from 01780 410305.

MAALSTROOM AND JO FREYA

A BRAND new collaboration between top Dutch folk band Maalstroom and the UK’s own folk saxophonist and singer, Jo Freya. brings together European tunes and songs for a completely new sound. The group will perform at Stamford Arts Centre on Wednesday May 6, one of only six UK dates on the tour. Tickets are £12 (£10) from the box office - 01780 763203.

HELL SAID THE DUCHESS

FOLK trio, Hell Said The Duchess will be perform in Ryhall Village Hall on Thursday May 12.
