THE RAF Wyton Voluntary Band will play a fundraising concert on Saturday at the Voyager School in Peterborough.

The concert has been organised by Dan Schofield, 17, of Burchnall Close, Deeping St James, to raise money for a trip to China to teach English to children in rural areas.

Dan, a former cadet and pupil at The Deeping School, said: “The concert is to raise money for Project Trust, the charity sending me to China this summer for a year of challenging and exciting opportunities while immersing myself completely in a totally different culture.

“I’ll be teaching English to children in a middle school aged between 14 and 17 who are less fortunate than me.

“The concert will be fantastic. The enthusiastic and talented musicians that make up the 40-piece Royal Air Force Wyton Area Voluntary Band specialise in military music and delivering amazing shows.”

Plenty of tickets are available for the show, which starts at 7.30pm. Doors open at 7pm and Dan will give a short speech before the music starts.

Tickets are on sale for £10 each. Call Dan on 07825 228826 or e-mail dschofield94@hotmail.co.uk to book.
