A church will host a season of concerts for the 10th year in a row.
St Martin’s Church in High Street St Martin’s, Stamford, has a number of events planned between now and the end of the year.
The season will begin on February 22 with a performance from teenage violin sensation Freya Goldmark, from Uppingham. The 17-year-old will play a range of pieces from Elgar to Ysaye, accompanied by Nicolene Gibbons on piano.
In March the Gentleman of St John’s will visit from the University of Cambridge. They will perform a repertoire of sacred songs, folk music and contemporary pop on March 27.
Conductor Giles Turner will lead the Come and Sing! choir as they perform Stainer’s Crucifixion on April 13.
Cellist Jonathan Dormand and pianist Marisa Gupta will give a concert on June 7. There will be a workshop on early music for singers on September 20 at Trinity Methodist Church in Barn Hill.
Claire Colton will sing a selection of jazz classics on October 18. And Stamford Singers will perform a festive concert on December 14.
