A top trumpet player has been to line up for the community choir concert Bourne to Sing that takes place at Bourne Academy on April 7.

Freelance trumpeter Anthony Thompson has performed with artists as diverse Gorillaz to the Liverpool Philharmonic.

Trombonist and Salvation Army member Guy Peverell, 48, of Bourne Road, Essendine, launched Bourne to Sing in a bid to get new people experiencing the joy of being part of a choir.

Performers will meet at midday for an afternoon of rehearsals, followed by a buffet dinner before the concert at 7pm.

The event has been supported by a £1,000 grant from the Len Pick Trust.

Tickets for the full day are £10, or £3 for evening concert only, available from Sally Anne’s in West Street, Bourne, richard.durrant@salvationarmy.org.uk or Guy Peverell on 07968185068.
