Deepings Carnival returns tomorrow (Sunday) and for the first time in years it will feature a parade.
A quirky mix of vintage fire engines, farm vehicles and classic cars and motorbikes will be led by the carnival queen in a silver Rolls Royce Shadow.
They will be joined by a group of cyclists to mark the parade’s Tour De France theme.
The parade will set off from Deepings Leisure Centre in Park Road, Deeping St James, at 11am. It will wind its way along Linchfield Road, Thackers Way and Godsey Lane, ending up at John Eve Field.
There the parade will meet up with a field of activities and events. The arena will host all manner of clubs and groups which are sure to appeal to everyone.
First Class Dog Training will give an agility show which is bound to bring whoops of delight from the audience. And members of the Deeping Shotokan Karate Club will show off their martial arts talents.
There will also be a funfair, craft stalls , beer and wine tent and live music on stage from popular Deepings bands.
Prior to the parade there will be a car boot sale on the Glebe Field from 9am.
The parade and carnival has once again been organised by the Deeping Lions and Rotary Club. In previous years the event has raised hundreds of pounds to be split between charities around the area.
Organisers hope to see plenty of people lining the streets to see the parade pass by.
