THE first performance of Sleeping Beauty will take place at Uppingham Theatre on Friday 31 December night, with more performances to follow on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 January.
This magical tale, performed by members of Uppingham Theatre Company, will be told through the storyteller Minstrel in a traditional pantomime by Peter Denyer.
On Beauty’s 18th birthday she falls under the curse of the evil Carabosse. Can Minstrel find a prince brave enough to fight the vengeful Carabosse and wake Beauty from her enchanted sleep with love’s first kiss?
Page Pickles and Dame Nanny Fanny provide buffoonery, laughter and fun.
The theatre company says there will be no repeat of last year’s boiler failure so audiences will be kept warm at the theatre in Stockerston Road, Uppingham.
Tickets are £10 (£8) from Paula Donaldson - 01572 822 788, Pauladonaldson2008@googlemail.com and Uppingham Sports and Books - 01572 822211.
