A THEATRE school has secured extra funding to offer classes to children with special needs.

Wildcats Theatre School, based at the new Wildcats Academy in Castle House, St Peter’s Hill, Stamford, has received grants of £1,000 from Stamford Town Council and £500 from Stamford town and Lincolnshire county councillor, John Hicks.

The money will fund workshops for children with special needs who are unable to attend the normal Wildcats classes.

Wildcats founder Caz Dolby said: “We applied for funding from various sources as we felt that although there was lots to do in Stamford for local children, there was little that was aimed at children with special or additional needs.

“Stamford Town Council and Coun Hicks were the first to be able to support the project, and we have now launched our pilot programme - a day of activities for children and their families to get involved in.”

The first sessions will take place during the October half term. Call 01780 762000 to find out more.
