What’s On: Feeling festive this weekend?

With Christmas just around the corner there’s plenty going on in the coming weeks - including an array of festive events this weekend.

Supporters of Stamford High School is hosting its annual Christmas Fair this Saturday at the Stamford Arts Centre, 10am to 3pm. There will be up to 40 stalls at the event, filled with luxury gifts, crafts, jewels and stocking fillers. There will also be a raffle on the day with lots of great prizes.

A Christmas Fair is also taking place on Saturday at the village hall in Easton-on-the-Hill, in aid of the Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, from 2pm to 4.30pm. There will be plenty going on including a special visit from Santa, tombola, grand prize draw, bric-a-brac stalls, toys, cakes, games and much, much more.

Harringworth’s Christmas Bazaar is also back this weekend, taking place at John the Baptist Church on Saturday, from 10.30am to 1.30pm. Entrance is just £1, which includes a hot drink and a mince pie. There will be many local stalls at this year’s event, including the famous Harringworth Hamper Raffle and ‘Made in Harringworth’ stall. There will also be spinning wheel demonstrations and a chance to meet a local children’s author.

St Mary’s and St John’s Primary School in North Luffenham is hosting its Christmas Fair this weekend. The event, on Saturday will run in the school hall from 1pm to 5pm. Entry is free and there will be a Santa’s grotto, gift and craft stalls, cakes, games, hampers and live music from the choir.

Collyweston is also hosting its Christmas Fair at the village hall this Saturday, from 2pm. There will be a Santa’s Grotto, acoustic music by the d’Ukes of Rutland, local stalls selling produce, crafts, cards and gifts, refreshments, tombola and raffle. Admission is free.

And not forgetting the Christmas Market being held at the Guide Hall in Conduit Road, Stamford on Saturday from 10am till 12 noon. The free event, will feature a tombola, hamper raffle, cakes, lucky dip, games and presents for mums and dads. All proceeds will go to Rainbow, Brownie and Guide groups within the Welland Division.
