Visitor numbers are up across Lincolnshire

Attractions across Lincolnshire are reporting soaring visitor numbers after a bumper Bank Holiday weekend.

Grimsthorpe Castle welcomed hundreds of families over the three days who all enjoyed the sunshine at one of Lincolnshire’s hidden gems.

Access manager at Grimsthorpe, Ray Biggs said: “Compared with this time last year, our season ticket sales figures are up by a third and we enjoyed one of our busiest ever weekends thanks to the fantastic weather.

“What has been particularly pleasing has been an increase in the number of children visiting Grimsthorpe. Traditionally, stately homes don’t appeal to smaller children but we are very lucky to have a large park and bike trail where parents can bring their kids and let them play in a safe and friendly environment.

“Our visitors love being able to bring along the family and get outdoors for a walk around the park, or hiring bikes and heading out on the trail with a picnic.

“Next month, families will get an extra incentive to get out in the sunshine and enjoy the trail. As part of National Bike Week, June 15 to June 23, we will be offering free cycle hire for dads on Father’s Day and free tag-along bikes during the week for children, so we’re expecting to see plenty of people enjoying Grimsthorpe.”
