A party was held to mark the 70th anniversary of the 2nd Bourne Brownies.

The event, at the Shippon Barn, in the Wellhead Gardens, was attended Brownies past and present.

The pack, which currently consists of 24 girls aged seven to 10, two adult leaders and two young leaders, meets every Tuesday at the venue. Since 1946, when 2nd Bourne Brownies was formed, hundreds of girls have passed through its ranks.

The Brownie section of Girlguiding celebrated its 100th birthday in 2014. Originally called ‘Rosebuds’ it was set up by Lord Robert Baden-Powell.
