MORE than 600 homes, which had a power cut in Cottesmore on Friday, had their power restored by midnight on Saturday.
The power cut was caused by a fault with an 11,000 vault underground cable and 667 homes and businesses in the village were cut off at 2.07pm.
Western Power Distribution had managed to restore electricity to 335 customers by 2.49pm and another 44 had power at 3.04pm. A further 76 had their electricity switched back on by 3.13pm.
Western Power Distribution arranged generators for the remaining properties, while it restores the cable. Most of them had their power back by 9pm on Saturday but one had to wait until nearly midnight.
