A spectacular Viking sword fight was one of the many highlights at this year’s Family Fun Day hosted by Stamford Lions Club, marking an incredible 40 years.

Despite the rain, spirits were still high and the Stamford and District Lions Club still ‘roared’ with pride.

Woodens Hearth, a Viking re-enactment group entertained those who had braved the rain, bringing history to life with their raid re-enactment.

President, Gill Clarke said: “The weather was unkind to us this year, but we kept going and enjoyed the many displays throughout the day.

“Stamford Lions has achieved a lot over the past 40 years and we look forward to another 40.”

Other highlights at the event included M.A.D Aerial Mountain Bike Display and Pro-Martial Arts School.
