An evening of contemporary poetry will be held at Stamford Arts Centre on Sunday, April 26 from 7pm.

In an ambience akin to a safe-feeling, cosy fireside reading, Wendy Cope will charm and amuse her audience with wry, ironic poetry; at times sharp and punchy, at times soft and contemplative.

She will guide you through her work, providing a special and enlightening hidden history into the background and technical difficulties of each creation and read some of the poems from her new collection, Family Values as well as from her bestselling collection, Two Cures For Love.

The event will conclude with a question and answer session.

Tickets are £14 (£12) from the box office: 01780 763203 or www.stamfordartscentre.com
